    Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most common questions we get asked about full arch dental implants in Nottingham.

    1. What is a full arch dental implant?

A product of some of the latest advancements in dental science, full arch dental implants are artificial tooth roots made of biocompatible materials. The root is placed beneath the gum line and into the jawbone, creating a secure place for replacement teeth or bridges to be positioned.

They can replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or even a full set of teeth.

    2. Is the full arch implant procedure painful?

At Beeston Dental, we’re committed to making all of your visits as comfortable, stress-free, and pain-free as possible. We use local anesthetic when placing the implant in your gum and jaw, ensuring no discomfort. Sedation is also available for our more nervous patients.

    3. Are they easy to clean?

Brushing twice a day, and preferably flossing once a day, is usually enough to keep your new teeth clean and healthy – just like natural teeth. We also strongly recommend using interdental brushes for cleaning the hard-to-reach areas.

To ensure that your new teeth retain their shine, we do offer a thorough hygiene service. Rest assured that we will provide you with everything you need to keep your teeth as clean and healthy as possible.

    4. Am I suitable for full arch dental implants?

If you are close to losing teeth, have only a few teeth, or have no teeth at all, then full arch dental implants are likely the best solution for you. If you currently wear dentures, you’ll soon be able to take them out for good!

There are very few health conditions that would prevent your eligibility. Heavy smoking, diabetes, and certain other conditions may present a risk factor, but these can be mitigated.

We will thoroughly assess your needs and your health during your consultation. And of course, if you have any concerns at any time, please get in touch so we can address them.

    5. How long does the full arch treatment take?

There are a number of factors which can affect the length of the procedure, including whether or not we need to extract teeth, the health of your gums, and the strength of your jawbones. Typically, full arch dental implants take between three and six months from consultation to brand new smile, though it could be as long as a year.

For those seeking teeth-in-a-day treatment, we do offer Same Day Teeth procedures. This is an advanced treatment involving four to six tooth implants, to which temporary bridges are placed. We then craft permanent bridges while the implants heal, which we can usually attach around the six month mark.

    6. How long do they last?

If cared for properly, full arch dental implants can easily last a lifetime. They are a genuine long-term solution, and are designed to be your new set of teeth for life.
