The team here at Beeston Dental Practice and Implant Clinic were recently awarded 'The Best Dental Clinic - Nottinghamshire' for our contributions to oral health promotions. Our team are dedicated to providing the best service's and support for our patients and also our local community.

A number of our dental nurses are designated Oral Health Nurse's who regularly work along side the Oral Health Nottingham team. We are part of the Brushing Buddies scheme where we are buddied up with different local schools in the community where we make regular visits to speak to the children, parents and teachers about Oral Health, the dangers of sugar in our diets and the importance of visiting a dentist on a regular basis. The team also visit a number of local nurseries and sometimes we arrange for groups to visit us here at the practice to get them used to the dental environment. We ensure were always up to date with the local guidelines by researching and completing CPD (continuous professional development) and visit our local resource centres to pick up lots of fun activities and games to help encourage and highlight the importance of looking after our oral health.
The team often take part in charity events with our principle dentist Chris who recently climbed 'The Park' steps 40 times to help Franklin Ellis Architects (who have been helping us with our current refurbishment) to raise money for Children in Need. Chris helped them towards an incredible target ascent of 8848m, the height of Mount Everest! A challenge that will see them collectively climb 92,040 steps by the end of the day.
We also take part in raising money for Cancer Research by hosting our own Macmillan Coffee Morning every year. In the last two years we have almost raised an amazing £800 for the charity by baking and selling cakes and giving away lots of electric toothbrushes in our raffle draw! Last year, the team competed in the first ever Beeston Dental Practice Bake off!
The team also completed a 40K tandem bike ride around Rutland Reservoir to help raise money for the Bangladesh Children's Charity. A young dentist from the village of Sargur in India was working without a dental chair so she was unable to provide a proper dental service to the local villages. We decided to help the Bangalor Children’s Charity to help to raise funds to provide the dentist with a dental chair so she would be able to provide a better quality of dentistry to the community. The team successfully completed the challenge with the majority having no training and even one of us never even ridden a bike before.
